Worldwide Food Industry to Benefit from $8 Million KENT Investment at Iowa State University
AMES, Iowa (September 13, 2023) – The dedication event for the Iowa State University KENT Feed Mill and Grain Science Complex on Friday, September 8, and the celebration CY-HAWK tailgate on Saturday, September 9, were successful as employees from across the company participated in the weekend.
In dedication remarks to a crowd of more than 350 on Friday, KENT Corporation Chairman and CEO Gage Kent stated the company's $8 million contribution to the project was not a gift, but rather an investment in the bedrock of the worldwide food industry.
“For almost ten decades, legions of KENT folks have worked in sale barns, show barns, feed lots and family farms; partnering with livestock producers, FFA and 4H kids, in pursuit of their ‘American Dream’," said Gage Kent, KENT Corporation Chairman and CEO, at the grand opening.
“For an even longer period of time, the countless teaching professionals of Iowa State University have trained young people for success as they entered the industry of food supply. Animal husbandry and grain production and processing are essential industries to our state's economy. In Iowa, we have the good fortune of benefiting from the bedrock of economic success from agriculture. It is for this simple reason that KENT Corporation has partnered with ISU, the legislature, the Board of Regents and the other contributors to make this essential project a reality.”
