MUSCATINE, Iowa (October 14, 2019) — Kent Corporation donated $10,000 to support a new Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Muscatine County Office. A ribbon cutting on October 10 marked the grand opening of the facility, located at 1601 Plaza Place in Muscatine.
“Kent Corporation’s investment in the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Muscatine County Office Remodel has allowed us to build financial stability and programmatic capacity through the ownership of our office,” said Krista Regennitter, County Extension Director.
Every year, more than 1 million Iowans directly benefit from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach educational programs for economic grown, healthy families, thriving communities and sustainable environments. Kent Corporation was recognized as a Lavendar Rosette Donor for its donation.
“Kent Corporation is thrilled to support the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Muscatine County because we believe in creating strong partnerships, and we know this program works to help our hometown of Muscatine thrive,” said Carol Reynolds, Kent Corporation spokesperson. “Kent cares about Muscatine and the people who live here, the new extension office will benefit many lives for years to come.”
In addition to offices, the new location provides a large meeting room for community groups, Master Gardeners and 4-H clubs to utilize beyond office hours. In 2017, over forty organizations, outside of Extension programming, utilized the Extension’s existing meeting rooms.
“This stability will help [the ISU Extension and Outreach Muscatine County Office] focus on our mission of feeding people, keeping them healthy, empowering youth to reach their full potential, and helping our community prosper and thrive through providing access to research-based education, information and partnerships,” said Regennitter.
