Kent Corporation Leadership Development Program Featured on Iowa Public TV

When Iowa Public Television Iowa Outdoors visited Langwood Education Center in Grandview, Iowa on May 12, 2015, they encountered one of the Kent Corporation FOUNDATIONS classes during their kick-off session at the center.

The session IPTV filmed is designed to build trust, teamwork, confidence, and improve communications and problem solving both as individuals and as a full team. This session really forms a strong team camaraderie among participants as they embark on the FOUNDATION learning series together.

The FOUNDATIONS leadership series was developed to support the growth and development of all levels of leaders at Kent Corporation. The program creates the opportunity for leaders to learn and develop critical skills using new tools, concepts and experiences. The 4-month long program includes classroom instruction and experiences using various tools to apply the learning to their current role.

Participants learn more about themselves and the organization, including how to leverage their strengths and develop needed areas. Each participant benefits from the support of their peers in the class, their direct Manager and other leaders at Kent Corporation.

More than 220 individuals have participated in our Kent FOUNDATIONS leadership program since we began the series over ten years ago. The program is designed to have small class sizes (fewer than 20) to allow for increased connections between class members and the instructors.

Engaging and leading others is the most important responsibility for Managers and Supervisors. Developing leaders throughout Kent Corporation is a top priority for the Kent Executive Committee.   As the organization grows and expands, leaders with the ability to collaborate and engage with their teams, are needed at all levels in our business. Senior Executives at Kent provide the environment and mentoring to grow leaders throughout the organization.
