An open house for retirees from Kent Corporation’s subsidiary companies was held at the new Kent Conference Center on Monday afternoon August 22, 2016.
After extensive remodeling, the Kent Conference Center was opened in April 2016 to accommodate the growing needs for training and meeting space that were no longer met by the prior aging training facility.
Retirees were invited to view the new space and reminisce about how things have changed from the prior structures that were re-purposed for this new space. Many retirees commented on how delighted they were to see the many improvements made to the Oregon Street campus.
During the event, Gage A. Kent, Kent Corporation CEO, provided a business update on company growth. Kent included specific examples of expansions, acquisition and growth projects recently undertaken for each of the subsidiary companies: Grain Processing Corporation, Kent Nutrition Group, Kent Precision Foods Group and Kent Pet Group. Kent also reviewed the many commitments to sustainability, technology advancement, and employee development that are taking place in all areas of the company.
Retirees also enjoyed light refreshments while socializing with former colleagues. With more than 140 people in attendance, there were many opportunities to reconnect.
“Our employees are the reason we have been able to grow and build this great organization. It is an honor to host so many people who have contributed to our organization’s success over the years”, according to Gage Kent. “Many retirees have not only successfully raised their families in Muscatine while working with Kent, they continue to give back to the community long after finishing their career. Our current employees feel the strong sense of responsibility to continue the company success track started by the retirees and to also continue their legacy of giving back to the community.”
Kent Corporation employs 2,000 employees through its family of companies located in the Midwest and Eastern parts of the United States. With the goal of providing a great place to work for an employee’s full career, Kent expects to continuously add to the retiree family.
