WAPELLO, Iowa – Kent Corporation is contributing $25,000 to the Wapello Athletic Boosters for purchasing state of the art exercise equipment for the new wellness center currently under construction in the Wapello Jr./Sr. High School.
This project serves as part of the Wapello Athletic Boosters’ mission to encourage physical fitness in students. The Boosters are raising $125,000 to build and furnish the fitness center to serve the needs of students, athletes, and physical education programs within the district. Replacing existing equipment and purchasing new cardio and heart monitoring equipment will aid in teaching students the important role regular physical activity plays in a healthy lifestyle.
An open house of the wellness center will take place on February 4. Local businesses, such as Myers Construction Inc., have been awarded work on the
