Kent Corporation and Employees make donation to United Way of Muscatine

For nearly half a century, Kent Corporation has been donating to the United Way of Muscatine.  The United Way of Muscatine works with local businesses and volunteers to provide strategic leadership to address the health and human service needs of the Greater Muscatine area.

Kent Corporation has pledged to make a match donation to employee contributions for the past 10 years.  Employees have the opportunity to make a donation the United Way of Muscatine through payroll deductions.  This year, Kent Corporation employees raised $53,000, resulting in a $106,000 to the United Way of Muscatine.

This year, United Way of Muscatine has positively impacted more than 27,000 lives through individual donations, workplace campaigns, and corporate gifts.  These donations go towards education, income, and health needs for members of the community.

Kent Corporation also encourages employees from their various companies and locations to donate time to assist with United Way projects.  More than 400 volunteers attended the 2013 United Way Day of Caring in Washington, Indiana. Among these volunteers, Grain Processing Corporation employees were on hand helping with a number of projects including pouring concrete sidewalks for area agencies. One of these organizations was the PowerHouse, which is a ministry dedicated to reaching at-risk teens by providing meals and after school programs and activities.  In Muscatine, Iowa, 45 of the 465 volunteers for Day of Caring projects were Kent Corporation employees.
