Muscatine, Iowa — Katherine K. Vandygriff was elected to the Kent Corporation Board of Directors on Tuesday, filling the role left vacant by her father, the late James H. Kent.
Vandygriff was the sole proprietor of Katherine’s Gem Lab and Appraisal Services until 2007. In addition to her role with the Kent Corporation Board of Directors, she serves on the Board of Directors of Iowa First Bancshares Corporation, the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Muscatine, and the Board of Trustees of Judson University in Elgin, Illinois. Vandygriff earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Drake University.
“I am honored to carry on my father’s legacy by joining the Kent Corporation Board of Directors,” said Vandygriff, “Kent Corporation has a rich family history, and I am excited to be a part of ensuring that tradition is carried into the future.”
James H. Kent, former CEO of Kent Corporation, served on the Kent Corporation Board of Directors until he passed in October 2012. His son Gage A. Kent continues the family leadership tradition as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Kent Corporation. Kent Corporation has grown to include 1,800 employees throughout the family of companies.
