Grain Processing Corporation Hosts Ingredient Challenge at Iowa State University

The 8th Annual Hands-On Student Experience Provides Window into Worldwide Food Innovation Market

AMES, Iowa (February 8, 2024) – Seven student teams from Iowa State University’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department recently competed in the 8th annual ‘One-Day Ingredient Challenge’, organized by KENT® Corporation subsidiary Grain Processing Corporation (GPC).

Teams were tasked with showcasing their product development skills by incorporating two GPC ingredients into a creative snack to add nutritional value or function. Judging criteria included ingredient use, presentation, creativity, and responses to questions.

This hands-on experience offered the twenty-two student participants real-world industrial ingredient exposure as well as networking opportunities with GPC professionals.
